Success Story
The BBLF group was successful in getting volunteers to help with dredging the lake and preserving the beach for swimming. Since then the BBLF group has raised funds for playground equipment, bank stabilization, museum displays, replenish trees, trail grooming, and offers a fishing clinic, and a 5 K fall run. The volunteer BBLF group is proud of being a Friends group to help expand the experiences that Backbone has to offer visitors. Currently replacing trees in the campgrounds is a need as the Emerald Ash Bore has destroyed many of the park trees which had to be removed. The goal is to replant trees that are not prone to diseases.
