About Us
The Dyersville Area Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund provides an opportunity for the public to give with the reassurance their donations will be used to quickly move resources to where they are most urgently needed in our own community, particularly toward needs not being met by existing non-profit, local, state and federal programs.
Guidelines: Our grants support local agencies that need funding to meet the immediate and short-term food, clothing, health, safety and shelter needs in our community. Our intent is to award grants to governments, schools, churches and 501c3 organizations whose services, programming or mission will directly have a positive impact on those unmet needs of affected individuals or families in the community. Grants are not made directly to individuals.

Normally Senior Centers are buzzing with visitors, volunteers and activities. However, when COVID-19 became a threat, things changed dramatically. No visitors or volunteers were allowed and all group activities were cancelled. Many of the elderly residents struggled with anxiety and depression. When Oak Crest Senior Care asked the Dyersville Area Community Foundation for help, we responded. We granted Oak Crest $1,800.00 to purchase iPads, books, games, puzzles and paint sets to help alleviate stress and occupy the resident's time. This story, along with many others like it, demonstrates the importance of the Dyersville Area Community Foundation. Like all community foundations, we are uniquely situated to improve our region through supporting innovative solutions and creating powerful partnerships.
