Dyersville nonprofits awarded over $76,000

 

The Dyersville Area Community Foundation recently recognized the hard work of 16 local nonprofits and charitable organizations, awarding them $76,120 from its annual grant cycle during an event at the Dyersville Golf & Country Club.

The annual event celebrated donors, fundholders and partners whose support has helped inspire people who care deeply about the community to give. The grants awarded will help tackle critical issues, including youth needs, updated technology and emergency response.

This year’s grant recipients are:

  • Beckman Catholic High School for an art display and gallery
  • Brown's Hometown Victory Foundation for the Reading 4 a Reason Program
  • City of Worthington for the Memorial Park gaga ball court
  • Dyersville Area Historical Society for roof updates at Dyer-Botsford Historical & Doll Museum
  • Dyersville Chamber of Commerce for student career exploration
  • Dyersville Campaign for Grade Level Reading for program support
  • Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois for Camp Little Cloud renovation
  • Hometown Pride Earlville for signage and banners
  • MercyOne Dyersville Health Foundation for pulse oximeter
  • New Vienna/Luxemburg Fire Department for pulse oximeters
  • New Vienna Area Historical Society for roller shade replacements
  • Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging for fall prevention class
  • Riverview Center for Dyersville area crisis intervention toolkit
  • St Francis Xavier School for hands-on and digital science material
  • Seton Catholic School for art in the classroom
  • St Joseph Catholic Church for lighting

A grant was also made to the new Michael & Jean Knepper Child Care Center in support of the capital campaign for the project. The grand opening of the new center will be Friday, Nov. 8, with a dedication at 2:30 p.m. and an open house from 3 – 7 pm.
