Foundation awards three grants

The River Bluff Community Foundation awarded grants during its annual Inspiration and Impact celebration this month, commemorating the positive impact of philanthropy and the generosity of neighbors in Clinton and Camanche.

The second annual event celebrated donors, fundholders and partners whose support has helped ignite generosity across the community. During the event, the Community Foundation awarded grants to three local nonprofits to help tackle critical issues, providing support for new mothers, cancer survivors and individuals recently released from incarceration.

“We have a front-row seat to our communities at their best,” says Alethea Cahoy, the Foundation’s executive director. “We see the ways generosity makes Clinton and Camanche thriving, welcoming places for everyone.”

Local donors make gifts to endowment funds held by the Foundation, which pay out annually to support grants to local nonprofits. This year’s recipients are:

  • Humility Homes for the Pathways to Freedom project
  • Lutheran Services of Iowa (LSI) for fourth trimester support for mothers
  • YWCA for the Above + Beyond Cancer program

For nonprofit recipients, these grants support projects and programs that address critical community issues.

LSI is excited to bring our new pregnancy support program to the community,” says Jennifer Monroe-Koopman, manager of grant writing for the organization. “With Foundation support, pregnant women will be able to access services and education virtually or in-person, as well as with a group, to help improve pregnancy outcomes and child health and development. We are so thankful to the Foundation for their support!”

“At the Community Foundation, it brings us such joy to help people give back to this incredible place and make it even better than it is today,” says Cahoy.
