Support community members impacted by Postville fire

When disaster strikes in Northeast Iowa, Iowans count on each other to pull together and restore our communities. That’s why the 2026 Postville Fire Community Support Fund has been established to help individuals and families impacted by the July 28 Agri Star Meat Plant fire.

Donations to the fund are used to provide grants to qualified nonprofit and community organizations responding to immediate needs and supporting long-term recovery efforts for those impacted by this disaster.

The Allamakee County Community Foundation and Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque are working closely with local nonprofits, community leaders and emergency response partners to assess emerging needs and identify meaningful ways to support recovery as the situation unfolds.

“Our thoughts are with the people of Postville during this devastating time,” says Jackie Cooper, executive director of the Allamakee County Community Foundation. “We recognize the uncertainty and challenges this event may bring for employees, families and the entire community.”

Donations can be made online at dbqfoundation.org/PostvilleFire. Checks made out to 2026 Postville Fire Community Support Fund can be mailed to:
