Idea Description
Develop a new, centrally located complex for the region that offers accessible recreational and fitness features, including designated indoor and outdoor areas for lap swimming, water therapy and children’s activities.

Where Dreams Begin

This work depicts a small girl playing at the pool, diving into her imagination. When I was a girl, I remember playing in the pool and imagining myself swimming into a foreign, underwater world. The painting incorporates aquatic wildlife native to Dubuque, bringing a sense of home to this fantasy world. With this painting, I hope to immerse the viewer in youthful enchantment. My intent is to encourage the viewer to see the benefit of healthy living while staying connected to our inner selves. No matter our age, we can all benefit from the experiences an aquatic wellness center can provide for our mind, body and soul.
