Alethea Cahoy

Executive Director, River Bluff Community Foundation

I have always had an acute awareness of people in need, and I always wanted to do something that could positively affect the lives of others.

Alethea moved to Clinton 20 years ago from Montana to be closer to her parents and siblings. Though she intended her stay in Clinton to be temporary, she was captured by the community and began teaching at Prince of Peace Catholic School. Soon after, she met my husband and eventually became a stay-at-home mother to raise their family. She now shares her talents as administrative assistant to the River Bluff Community Foundation.

“I have always had an acute awareness of people in need, and I always wanted to do something that could positively affect the lives of others. That's part of why I wanted to be a teacher,” she explains. “My parents instilled in my five siblings and me an understanding and appreciation of the importance of serving others.  We were taught the importance of sharing our time, talents, and treasures.” Through numerous and diverse service experiences over the course of her lifetime, Alethea has come to understand how communities work, grow, and are strengthened by serving each other.

“I am excited to use my passion for service to help River Bluff Community Foundation continue to grow and diversify,” she says. “I look forward to learning about various ways in which we can help to strengthen our community and ensure all members of our community can grow and thrive.”

Alethea and her husband, Steven, have three children - an adult son who is married with a family of his own, a high schooler and an elementary school student. In her spare time, se  enjoys spending time with both  immediate and extended family, camping, reading, cooking, and arts and crafts.
