Amy Unmacht

Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools Executive Director

“The best part of my job is the impact I can make on our schools and our students.”

Amy grew up in a family of educators, and spent her own professional career in education. She’s passionate about making an impact on future leaders as a community, and gets to do so as executive director of the Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools, a partner of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque.

Through her time in the classroom and in the offices of administrators, Amy developed the skills to collaborate with donors, community leaders and school personnel to find unique ways to support enriched learning for Dubuque students. Her role as executive director of the Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools directly supports the district’s mission to develop world-class learners and citizens of character in a safe and inclusive community.

Amy and her husband Dan (Hempstead, class of 1980) have three sons who graduated from the Dubuque Community School District. They enjoy playing golf as a family, and Amy also spends time baking and likes to help others.
