Clara Lopez Ortiz

Growing up as a minority in the small town of Cascade, Clara understands both the struggles, and the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in our community. She represents the Foundation by serving on community committees, boards, and attending community and grantee meetings within focus areas to drive community improvement.
Clara is excited to be making a difference and supporting others who have had similar experiences. She coordinates our Inclusive Dubuque initiative and our Business Leader Equity Cohort.
In her free time, Clara is learning to speak Korean. She comes from a hardworking, loving, and supportive family, and spends a lot of quality time with her young nieces.

Q. Describe your favorite meal.
A. My favorite meal is tamales during the Christmas holidays with a side of frijoles charros and a glass of cold Coca-Cola.
