Jeremy Vallin
Communications Specialist"Investing in and telling stories about the community I grew up in is very rewarding."
Jeremy grew up around generous people, and as an adult, he draws on those experiences in his career with the Community Foundation and his personal life.
“I remember being about 8 years old and serving tacos to people at the Hope House here in Dubuque,” he says. “What resonated with me was how grateful people were to be served such a simple meal. It made me feel good to pay it forward at such a young age.
“I credit my mom for being a social worker and advocating for various causes and fueling my passion to give back. That’s why I chose the role I’m in now: to continue to help others.”
In his role at the Foundation, Jeremy tells the stories of people who, like him, have been moved to give back to their community and improve the lives of their neighbors. Having grown up in Dubuque and graduated from Senior High School, Jeremy is committed to the community that nurtured him. After high school, he remained local, earning a graphic design degree from Northeast Iowa Community College and a bachelor's in media studies from Loras College.
Prior to joining the Foundation in 2026, Jeremy worked with the Minnesota Wild as a production assistant. In 2020, he joind the KCRG TV-9 news team as a photojournalist with KCRG TV-9, telling local stories of the COVID-19 pandemic, that year's devastating derecho, and contentious elections. He earned an Emmy award for his work. After working at KCRG, he transitioned to his alma mater, Loras College, to work in marketing as a photographer/videographer.
Jeremy and his wife, Cassie, have a son named Isaac, and a black lab named Lola. In his free time, Jeremy enjoys watching and attending Minnesota Vikings games, watching hockey, and spending time with his family.
