Kaley Rigdon Burgmeier

Philanthropy Specialist

"Our community has a rich history and is also eager for growth and innovation. Working unitedly, Dubuque residents accomplish remarkable things."

When Kaley Rigdon Burgmeier talks about the community where she was born and raised, her love shines through.

“My heart has always been in Dubuque,” she says. It’s that love that drew her back after college and what inspires her in her work at the Community Foundation.

Aside from a few years living in Iowa City and attending the University of Iowa, Kaley has called Dubuque home her entire life. She loves raising her daughter in the city with her husband, Matt, and enjoying its combination of small-town charm and urban opportunities. As the Community Foundation’s philanthropy specialist, she has found a role that lets her make a difference for the community she loves.

“I'm drawn to the power of community. Foundations like ours play a vital role in uniting people to address shared challenges and create a brighter future for all. Being a part of that process is incredibly rewarding.”

In her role at the Foundation, Kaley connects caring community members with opportunities to invest in the place they love. Building relationships with people who share her passion for the Dubuque region is one of her favorite parts of the job.

In her free time, Kaley loves to stay active, whether she is lifting weights, exploring a local park with her daughter, or just taking her dog for a morning walk. At the same time, she also enjoys some good relaxation. Kicking back and watching a documentary with her husband or dining out at a restaurant are a couple of her favorite pastimes.

Fun Fact

Q. What is your favorite place to visit?

A. Marco Island, Florida. My husband’s family has been going there for years, so it is nostalgic for him. I love being part of this tradition and hope to create similar experiences for our daughter on the same beaches where my husband has such fond memories.
