Every Child Reads Summer Enrichment Program

Apply now and if selected, you will receive all the tools, ideas and network needed to incorporate reading into your existing youth programs.

We are excited to announce phase one of our new Every Child Reads summer enrichment program! This innovative opportunity will enable you to incorporate literacy enrichment into your youth activities in exciting ways.

We want all kids to maintain their reading proficiency during the summer. One of the best ways to do this is by making literacy engaging. That's where you come in. Your programs are already a blast, so just imagine the impact you can make by implementing this fun reading component!

Through our Every Child Reads summer enrichment program, you will get the tools, ideas and network needed to incorporate reading into your existing youth activities.

All applications are due Friday, June 10 at 5 p.m.

Who Is This For?

Anyone who offers a summer program or activity that engages children in preschool through fifth grade — regardless of whether that program is focused on academics — is welcome to apply.

Priority will be given to those who work with kids who are disadvantaged and/or read below grade level.

What Does It Include?

You will get everything you need to implement fun and engaging literacy enrichment activities into your existing summer programs, including:

  • One-on-one consultations with expert mentors like the Iowa State University Extension Office that will help you develop ideas to incorporate literacy into your existing activities.
  • Five books per child. You will receive support from a Carnegie-Stout librarian who will help you pick from a variety of books to fit the ages and interest levels of your kids.
  • Fun SWAG for you and the kiddos! You'll have enough tote bags, colored pencils, books, and journals for every child.
