About Us
The Dubuque Area Journalism Foundation Fund is an endowed fund for the purpose of directly funding reporter positions in locally-owned and controlled news organizations. For every $1 million dollars accumulated in the fund, $50,000 in income will be generated annually - enough to fund a reporter's salary and benefits.
Your tax-deductible investment in the fund may also be eligible for and Endow Iowa tax credits, depending on where you reside and the remaining tax credits available. This fund is designed to provide long-term, sustainable support for local journalism in our communities.

Long term sustainability is the ultimate goal for any local community news organization. Endowments are a great tool to help provide that stability.
For every $1 million raised in this endowment, we can fund 1 reporter's salary and benefits in perpetuity - reducing the amount of support needing to be fundraised every year. At 5 stories per week, each reporter writes 250 local stories about our communities every year. You can help keep local, accurate journalism alive with your major tax-deductible donation to this fund.
Our goal is to reach $1million in the fund by the end of 2024. We are over halfway there, at $508,000! Help us reach our goal by major a major gift to this endowment today - and securing local reporter positions in perpetuity!
