- Goal: Summer Learning- the Jackson County Campaign has partnered with all elementary schools to offer Summer Adventure since 2016.
- Goal: School/Reading Readiness- We have established partnerships with community organizations, service providers, and the medical, dental, and school communities to provide reading information and books to families.
- Goal: School Attendance- Partnerships with schools have led to curriculum improvements for counselors and attendance teams, enabling earlier identification of student needs. Collaboration with CFGD leadership has guided the exploration of community supports to improve student attendance through stronger engagement with families, schools, and community partners.
About Us
The Jackson County Campaign for Grade-Level Reading is an initiative of the Community Foundation of Jackson County. The Communities started investigating becoming a Campaign Community in 2014. After gathering county-wide data and organizing the Campaign was officially recognized by the National Campaign in 2015.

Data from our Summer Adventure program shows that more than two-thirds of participating students maintain or improve their reading scores in the fall. This is especially significant because students facing reading challenges often lose up to two and a half months of skills over the summer.
