Clayton County Foundation for the Future Awards $10,000 to Local Nonprofits

The Clayton County Foundation for the Future (CCFF) awarded $10,168 to area nonprofits April 14 at its annual grant celebration at the Elkport Garber Community Center.

“We use this event every year to celebrate the impact that local endowment dollars through the Foundation can have on our community,” said Foundation Executive Secretery Darla Kelchen. “These dollars from our many generous donors are making a difference for the communities and causes you love, and they will continue to work for many years to come to support the future of Clayton County.”

At the event, Kelchen announced grant awards totaling $10,168 to the following organizations:

  • City of Elkader - $1,000 for Elkader Funds for Fields improvements to youth baseball/softball fields.
  • Clayton County Conservation Board - $1,000 for Turkey River Park Water Access & Community Picnic Shelter Improvement
  • Garnavillo Historical Society - $1,000 for I.T. historical information integration system
  • Clayton County Historical Preservation Commission - $1,000 for Clayton County Courthouse Clock Tower Project Phase 2
  • City of Elkader - $1,000 for Inclusive swing for Founders' Park
  • Froelich Foundation  - $1,000 for  Descriptive Signs for Exterior Museum Buildings
  • Clayton County Community Collaboration Council - $1,000 for 5C Participant Recognition
  • Monona Butterfly Gardens and Trail Committee - $1,000 for Tree & Shrub Plantings
  • Naturally Guttenberg DBA Guttenberg Development & Tourism - $845 for Bike Racks & Benches for Downtown Guttenberg
  • Shepherd Gallery and Creativity Center - $823.64 for Handicap Accessibility for Experiencing the Arts
  • Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission - $500 for Bike Safety in Clayton County

Funding for the grants was made possible by donations to the Clayton County Foundation for the Future Endowment, the Leroy and Colleen Darby Family Endowed Donor Advised Fund, the AJ Spiegel Endowment Fund.
