Clayton County Foundation for the Future awards nearly $20,000 to local nonprofits

The Clayton County Foundation for the Future awarded $19,684 to area nonprofits through its 2021 grant cycle. The Foundation’s advisory board looks forward to rescheduling the grant award celebration when health conditions allow. Nonprofits will receive checks as scheduled to continue their work serving the community.

“We are excited to support the good work of nonprofits throughout Clayton County, and grateful for our partnerships with many responsive local donors,” says Andy Reimer, board chair. “This year’s grants touch communities across the county in a variety of ways.”

Grant funding was made possible by donations to the Clayton County Foundation for the Future Endowment, Leroy and Colleen Darby Family Endowed Donor-Advised Fund, Dan Barton Family Endowment, Watson-Rugland Family Endowment for Clayton County, and Dr. Russell and Juanita Loven Endowment.

“In March, the community lost a great friend in Colleen Darby. The legacy she and her husband, Leroy, have established will live on through their endowment funds supporting the Foundation’s work in communities across our county,” says MJ Smith, director of affiliate foundations for the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque.

Donors who give to endowments may benefit from the Endow Iowa 25% State Tax Credit in addition to federal charitable income tax deductions. For more information about giving to local nonprofits through the Foundation, contact Emily Sadewasser at ccff@dbqfoundation.org.
