Diers joins Foundation

Foundation for the Future of Delaware County welcomes new executive director, Amanda Diers

The Foundation for the Future of Delaware County is pleased to announce the hiring of Amanda Diers as its new executive director. Former director Nancy Preussner retired from the position this summer after seven years in the role.

We are excited to bring Amanda into our work. Her gifts for developing relationships and creating opportunities for progress are inspiring,” says Megan McKenzie, vice president of the Foundation board. “Amanda's passion and commitment to building a thriving community will move the Foundation's mission forward.”

Diers lives in Colesburg with her husband, Jared, and their two children, who attend Ed-Co Elementary. She’s an active member of the Colesburg Community Club, a nonprofit that has been awarded several Foundation grants.

“I bring the perspective of the grant writer and can help other nonprofits identify funding opportunities. I can also relate with the stories of grantees while sharing with those giving,” she explains. The Foundation makes annual grants to nonprofits as part of its efforts to improve quality of life in Delaware County. Diers will work to help Foundation board members understand the county’s greatest needs, leveraging endowment and connecting with donors to help meet those needs.

As a territory sales manager for Atlantic Bottling Coca-Cola in the region, Diers has many connections throughout the county. She looks forward to meeting new people and continuing to build relationships and friendships locally. “It is such an exciting feeling to be granted funds to go toward a project so near and dear to your community and having the opportunity to pay that forward is awesome,” she says.

In her free time, Diers enjoys baking, boating on the Mississippi, spending time outdoors and being the biggest fan at her children’s sports events.

The Foundation for the Future of Delaware County offers many opportunities to improve quality of life by addressing an array of local issues. To learn more about how you can establish a fund or make a gift that impacts your community, contact Diers at ffdc@dbqfoundation.org.
