Endowments support community beautification

The Farley Garden Club has a tradition of adding colorful landscapes to the community — a tradition made possible by annual payouts from its endowment fund. Each year, payouts from endowment funds held by the Dyersville Area Community Foundation support organizations’ missions and improve quality of life in local communities.

“We have a beautiful little town, and this has been a catalyst for beautifying all of Farley,” says Joyce Jarding, founding club member.

Celebrating 25 years of service in 2023, the club has grown to benefit the entire community. The endowment has benefited from the generous contributions of an array of local donors. Annual payouts help the club improve its 24 garden plots with new edging and fresh plants, as well as establish new beds.

The Foundation holds funds for many nonprofits, as well as individuals and families with charitable goals. In 2023, the Foundation’s family of funds paid out $100,000 to support community projects in the Dyersville area. Gifts to the Foundation’s family of endowments funds can be made anytime online at dbqfoundation.org/dacf.

“The Foundation connects donors with the greatest needs in our community,” says Executive Director Michelle Grover. “We offer many opportunities to improve quality of life by addressing an array of local issues.” To learn more about how you can establish a fund or make a gift that impacts your community, contact Grover at 319-269-6432 or email dacf@dbqfoundation.org.
