Michelle Grover appointed executive director of Dyersville Area Community Foundation

The Dyersville Area Community Foundation is proud to announce that Michelle Grover has been promoted to executive director after serving a year as foundation coordinator. As executive director, Grover is dedicated to learning about community needs in order to guide impactful grantmaking through the Community Foundation. She plans to continue growing a proactive donor network, partner with local professional advisors, and offer presentations to educate the community about the Foundation and its mission.

“I am still learning every day. In the past year, I've really come to understand the Foundation’s mission, the roles of our community partners, and how endowments create a lasting impact on people in our area,” said Grover. “Getting to know and work with our board over the last year has been rewarding, and I'm excited to continue supporting their work in my new role.”

Grover will replace Nancy Dunkel, long-time board member who has served as executive director since 2011. She cites The Kid Project Community Childcare, the Dyersville Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, and annual grant awards as points of pride from her years of service. Dunkel will continue working with the Foundation as a volunteer board member.

“Nancy has taught me so much, not only about the Foundation and how it works, but about having passion for this kind of work,” said Grover. “I am so grateful to her, and I am honored to follow in her footsteps.”

Grover has enjoyed meeting and working with the people of Dyersville since she was hired last year. She looks forward to supporting the work of the Foundation and continuing to strengthen the community, ensuring a strong future for the area.

“Michelle, with her great leadership skills and management tools, will continue on with the good work that is never finished,” said Dunkel.

Grover has a bachelor’s degree in business management, a master’s degree in health education, and deep involvement in the community. She has served as a member of the St. Francis Xavier Parent Association, the Dyersville Recreation Board, co-chaired the Beckman Capital Campaign, and on the parish council at St. Francis Xavier church.
