Tell us about yourself!

I live on a family farm NE of Strawberry Point with my husband, Randall. We are second generation owners of Johnson Wood Products. My favorite spots to relax are in my gardens. Gardening invites me to get outside and take charge of my own need for exercise, good food, and beautiful surroundings.

Why did you join the Foundation board?

I was recruited to the board by M.J. Smith. I knew of her passion for the Clayton County Foundation for the Future and was familiar with the Northeast Iowa Funder’s Network because of my work with Northeast Iowa Food & Fitness, a grant recipient of the Funder’s Network.

What inspires you to keep serving?

Helping people achieve their goals is a wonderful way to serve others. CCFF has an admirable opportunity to encourage people to do what they believe in and support it. Keeping funds in our communities is invaluable.

My most memorable project is the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides all of Clayton County’s youngest children with wonderful books each month until the age of five. Literacy and being read to is so important for school readiness.
