Tell us about yourself!

We have loved raising our children here and cherish the friends and family we have close by.  I moved to Manchester when I married my husband, Mark, in 1992. We love to spend time in Northern Michigan rock hunting at the Lake Michigan beaches, hiking, golfing, skiing, and as of late, learning to play pickleball! While our children, Sophie and Harrison, were little, I stayed busy with volunteering as a Girl Scout Leader, in their school classrooms, and helping to develop the West Delaware Academic Booster Club. Once they went off to college, I had the opportunity to join the Board of the Foundation for the Future of Delaware County.

What inspires you to keep serving on the Foundation board?

One of the key areas  we focus on with our mission to strengthen families is supporting mental health initiatives identified by nonprofits such as Delaware County schools, family support agencies, and our regional hospital. The Foundation helps in various ways: staying engaged in identifying needs, partnering with programs, and financial support. This is very inspirational to me!

I believe that even the smallest request made by nonprofits can make a big impact in our communities! The FFDC COVID-19 Relief Fund is a memorable effort, helping bridge gaps in resources created during the pandemic. Because of the generosity of our communities, we were able to raise over $50,000 and collect and distribute countless essential needs like food, masks, household items, art supplies, games and toys for families across Delaware County.
