Itza Heim

Office Administrator

“Community means service and sharing.”

Itza is the smiling face at the Community Foundation’s front desk and the warm voice on our end of the phone line. Her personal philosophy is that each of us has a mission on Earth: to help and serve others. This makes her the ideal person to greet each of our guest and callers and assist our staff in the office!

Itza is from Panama. She made the eight-day journey to the midwestern United States by bus when she was 18 and decided to stay, marrying an Iowan and raising their three children in Cascade.

“Being bilingual has been a great blessing as I can assist the Hispanic communities wherever I go, and being able to translate documents and conversations has been an asset to my various jobs,” she says. Itza’s favorite part of working at the Foundation is that she gets to smile all day long, because each day is a blessing.

Itza enjoys gardening, fishing, bicycling and all sports. She loves Harley riding with her husband and has taken cross-country journeys on the motorcycle. She describes her family as fun, loving, very close, strong, caring, faithful and faith-filled.
