Lovisa Railstrom

Systems and Operations Manager

“Finding solutions means bringing everyone together and lifting the experiences of those most impacted to learn, problem solve and build compassion – the work our foundation does every day.”

A Dubuque native raised in a big, loud, Irish family, Lovisa is excited to give back to a place that has shaped so much of her life. She believes there are many complex barriers and challenges in our world that need to be tackled.

A graduate of the University of Oregon, Lovisa came to the Community Foundation in 2018 as an Americorps VISTA working in communications and development. After completing her year as a VISTA, Lovisa was hired to continue developing powerful strategies for social media, communications, and brand awareness.

A self-described “natural problem solver,” Lovisa stepped up to manage the Foundation's switch to a new customer relationship manager (CRM) system in 2022. From there, her role grew to ensure that staff members have the technology and data capacity to serve the community and make a deeper impact.

Today, overseeing the functionality of that CRM is a top priority, and she also takes measures so that the donor and partner information entrusted to the Foundation is secure.

In her free time, Lovisa likes wood burning, reading and digital illustration, and she enjoys life on the farm with her wife Tori and their cats, Miss Baby, Georgie and Sookie.
