Community Equity Profile
Help build a Dubuque region where all people can thrive.
The Community Foundation created Dubuque’s first Equity Profile in 2015, and we are now updating it to reflect the community today. The Equity Profile provides information on how all people in the community are affected by various systems, such as housing, education and health care. It will inform leaders, community members and policymakers and serve as a guide for creating an action plan that supports Dubuque’s growth as an equitable and inclusive community.

You can play a role!
There are many ways to help create the Equity Profile.
Attend a Community Conversation or Panel Discussion
Each month, we and partner organizations will host events that give community members opportunities to share personal experiences and learn about data related to seven areas:
- Housing (September)
- Workforce and economic well-being (October)
- Education (November)
- Health and wellness (January)
- Arts and culture (February)
- Safe neighborhoods (March)
- Transportation (April)
Our partners at TH Media will kick off each month with a panel discussion that offers a deep dive into that month's topic. Then, facilitated conversations will be held throughout the community, giving people a chance to add their voices.

Take a Survey
You can also share additional details about your thoughts and experiences by completing an online survey. Each month, we will launch a survey covering the same topic as the month's conversations.
Host or Facilitate a Conversation
Community members and organizations are key to creating the Community Equity Profile. We invite you to volunteer your time and/or space to help make our community conversations successful.
- Facilitate a conversation: We are offering training this fall for volunteer facilitators to learn how to lead discussions and capture input from attendees.
- Host a conversation: Business and nonprofits are welcome to hold a facilitated conversation for your staff, board members and/or constituents.
If you are interested in either option, please email Clara Lopez Ortiz.
Snapshots and Data
See information collected on each topic.
Each month, we will publish a snapshot that reflects current community data related to the month's discussion topic, along with input gleaned from our community conversations. Check back each month to see the latest snapshots.
