Dyersville Area Community Foundation

The foundation connects donors with philanthropic causes they love. Currently DACF holds an endowment for the community, which is used to make annual grants to area non-profits. In addition, the DACF holds funds for Beckman High School, Mercy Foundation-Dyersville, and the Ghost Players Baseball History. Gifts to foundation endowments have grown over the last ten years in large part because they are eligible for the 25% Endow Iowa tax credit. Since the inception of the DACF in 2005, over $67,000 has been granted to organizations throughout the area, 5 funds have been created to better the community, and over $558,000 in assets are housed for the Dyersville area with the Community Foundation.

Iowa Transfer of Wealth

Between the years of 2000-2049, Iowa can expect to see $531.7 billion transfer from one generation to the next through probate estates. In 2010 through 2019 alone, $74.43 billion is expected to pass to heirs.

Dubuque County Transfer of Wealth 

During years 2010-2019, $ 1.78 billion is expected to transfer from one generation to the next through probate estates. Over the next 50 years, the estimated transfer of $12.6 billion.  

Delaware County Transfer of Wealth 

During years 2010-2019, $ 431 million is expected to transfer from one generation to the next through probate estates. Over the next 50 years, the estimated transfer of $2.9 billion.

If just five percent of the projected transfer could be invested between now and 2050 at the Community Foundation in an endowment, nearly $775 million would be secured forever. Figuring a five percent grant payout, an estimated $38.8 million could be available annually to improve the quality of life in our community and secure our future.
